Finally Wrapping up this 3 part blog series, When starting my second year I really felt in my heart I was doing my clients a huge dis-service by not providing them with print, albums or products in their home. I know they bought a CD they should have nice quality prints, right? But I can't go by what they might have, even if i educated them on where they should be buying their prints. I was also doing a huge dis-service to myself as a artist/photographer by not seeing my hard work printed. The feeling you get when your work is printed is priceless. Having a client 20x30 wall print of their newborn gave me tears the first time I saw them printed in their home. I know they will cherish that for a lifetime. Providing my clients with beautiful quality products fills a void in my heart that I realized later wasn't getting filled my first year.
My Intentions of this blog wasn't to ramble but to better explain why I offer what I offer. Why my collections come with the products they come with. All of my collections come with prints and or albums for a reason, because you deserve to have beautiful quality products in your home. If you love what you just read then you are my client and would love to have you as a client!
With much love, Katrina

I have been working on some new processing and I love the final result. Here are a few examples below!

On to the good stuff! What I offer my clients. Gift Prints, wall prints, canvas, acrylics, albums, and custom made frames are just to name a few. As I talked about in Part 1 my first year I offered most of these but never showed my clients any samples and in the return they never bought any products. How can you go shopping if you don't have any samples?  My albums are my babies in the photography world. While I'm shooting your session besides making you look good, I'm shooting for the album. I'm getting shots that will look great as a spread on a 10x10 page. I only offer the best products! I only want the best for my family so that is also how I run my business for my clients. Wedding Albums are a little different. I shoot the same for wedding with the intent of shooting for a spread but want to tell the story of your day from the start of your engagement to the last dance at your wedding reception. That is why all wedding packages come with the engagement session and most of my packages come with album credits. My wedding albums and senior albums have been very popular last year. This year I have decided to finally add Leather albums! I just got my sample in yesterday and it is so beautiful. I should try to wrap this up before we need a Part 3. Nah let's have a Part 3! Hope you like what you have read today, check back Friday for Part 3

Just like you read in Part 1 about how I love shooting back-lite  I couldn't resist a little back-light shooting for my print samples!
Why choose K&K Photography. Well for me that is an easy answer because I take pretty pictures  No really the answer is much more complex than that. When I first started my business almost 3 years ago I wanted to not only provide beautiful portraits but wanted them to last a lifetime for my clients. Even though I educated my clients on where they should get their prints printed I know some still will go to the most convenient place they can and it's probably not where I suggested. I made a few big changes my second year. The first change was charging what i'm worth! It was scary and first but its feel good and am blessed to be able to do that. I have spent a lot of time learning, studying and perfecting my craft. It wasn't an easy decision and it might mean I won't get certain clients. But I have to be OK with that. I only want clients that truly want and value me for what I do. The amount of time that goes into each session is way more complex than most would think for clients. For example, My typical high school senior from the first email there may be 5-10 emails. From what they should wear, what should they do to their hair. Some even send me pictures of their outfits (which I love) so that I can then help pick which location would fit best with there outfit. There are also 3 consultations! Yes 3 sometimes 4! First consult, I meet them in person before the shoot to go over all the details of their session and to show them my samples wall portraits and albums. Meetings before the shoot has made the shoot itself so much more relaxed for my seniors. They get relaxed more quickly and we get more amazing images sooner! The second consult is either the location scouting or the shoot itself. The third consult is the viewing consult after their session. I show them all their images and I also show them what their senior album will look like if they choose to buy the album. The viewing consult is my guilty pleasure. I love hearing my clients praising their images but it has also been an eye opener too. I have seen what clients like and don't like. I have seen what pictures they prefer over others. Being a photographer i'm emotionally attached to them all and some are because they are technically correct or cool from a photographer standpoint. For Album design I design from a photographer stand point and I proof from a senior or bride stand point since I have been both. That technique has turned my album changes from approx 4 to my last album design 0! I'm kinda proud of that :)

Most of my senior last year also met with me after the initial meeting consult to go scouting the perfect locations for them if they wanted something new. From there I would pick the best time of day whether it is morning or evening for that particular location. Since I prefer to shoot back-lit I will always suggest locations where I can do just that. I can explain in another blog what back-light is all about. It will change your game! Here are some examples of shooting back-lit. Isn't the light just yummy?

If you read this whole blog post, Thank you! I promise I will keep Part 2&3 of ExPosed shorter.

This fall I went out with a client turned friend and we worked on some new poses and tried some new locations. Of course we had a few laughs along the way! Most of my 2012 seniors will recognize most of these poses and the locations. This was a fun shoot for me, Makayla is real good a styling herself so all I had to do was shoot and pose! Next week I will go into greater detail on my senior shoots from the initial consult, preparation before the shoot, the shoot itself and even what to expect after the shoot, but for now it is all about the imagery  I put my all into each and everyone of their shoots! I know that this means a lot to them and I want to give them the complete experience!
Check back Sunday for Part 1 of ExPosed!

This is that time of year were a lot of beautiful couples have got engaged over the holiday's. Now that your engaged you want to ask what is next. Once you have choose your photographer the next step would be setting up your engagement session.

Engagement session is so important for several reasons  First, this time allows you, as a couple, to get comfortable in front of the camera with your photographer, and figure out how you work best together before the main event. Next you can showcase your personalities in a more casual session, while creation some fun, memorable images for wall portraits, your wedding sign in book,  and thank you cards (shot early enough  we can also provide the images for your save the date cards and invitations). Engagement portraits also add another dimension to your wedding album. chronicling your story frolicking fiancees to husband and wife. Best of all, you can remember this special time forever with personal memories of just the two of you, away from the throngs of the loves ones and friends.

Here are some lovely engagement pictures from this summer!
